One of the first things I do, whether it’s over the phone or in person is establish, what are your goals? Not my goals. What’s your goals. DCF already has their goals, has their plan. They come and see you.
They’re going to investigate you. They’re going to question you, your children, they’re going to inspect your home. So then I turn around and I asked everybody, what are your goals? Because when you know what your goals are with clarity and cleanness, you write them down and you will continue to progress towards those goals.
We will make sure that that happens. When you have a surgeon that’s going to operate. They have a checklist. They have a plan. When you have a plane that’s getting ready to take off that pilot has a plan. A ship that was out to sea, that captain has a plan. When you go bake a cake, you have a plan.
It, it amazes me how many people meet with DCF during the DCF investigation, they come to me afterwards and say, I don’t understand Kevin, this was a baseless, bogus, false allegation and they supported it against me.
And then I’ll ask them, what was your plan when you met with DCF? They look at me incredulously and they say, plan, plan? What do you mean by a plan? And I say, Oh my God, how do you meet with DCF? You got to have a plan in life, especially against the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. DCF has a plan. What’s their plan? They’re coming to investigate you, your children and your home.
And what’s your plan?
People answer all the time “I don’t know.” And they say to me, “I was supposed to have a plan?” Yeah, there’s a real shocker. They have the ability and the power to take your children out of your home and place them into foster care. Do not gamble with your children’s future.
